Splashes of color sprayed by hand
There is a particularly great deal of craftsmanship in this glaze! With each piece here black color is sprayed on the clay before a transparent glaze is applied. The cream color is the natural color of the stoneware clay. This type of decoration is done in many pottery studios around the world, typically in Puglia, in the south of Italy, among other places. We find the glaze especially beautiful on vases and salad bowls!
