Black dots sprayed on by hand
There is a lot of manual work involved in this glaze! Before a transparent glaze is applied, the black color is sprayed onto the clay of each piece. The cream color is the natural color of the stoneware clay. This type of decoration is made in many pottery studios around the world, typically in Puglia, in the south of Italy. We find the glaze particularly beautiful on vases, jugs and salad bowls!
